Yucca gloriosa is a tough, evergreen plant bearing crowns of fleshy, spiky, architectural foliage. Leaves are green with a creamy edge which turns pink in colder weather. Eventually it forms a branched trunk. In late summer, clusters of cream-white bell-shaped flowers appear, which are loved by bees. It’s a useful plant for growing in dry, sunny gardens, coastal locations and exotic planting schemes. Younger plants can be grown successfully in a container.
