Quick Overview:

Snowcone? Japanese Snowbell (Styrax japonicus ?JFS-D?) is a refreshing new selection of this popular small garden tree. It features the same pure white, bell-shaped, pendulous flowers as the species, but is unique for its densely uniform and pyramidal shape. Picture an inverted cone, and you?ll have a pretty good representation of its shape. Mature height is approximately 25 feet, with a spread of about 20 feet.

Description

It requires an evenly moist well-drained soil for optimal growth. It is very fussy about its soil conditions and must have rich, acidic soils to ensure success, and is subject to chlorosis (yellowing) of the leaves in alkaline soils. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution, and will benefit from being planted in a relatively sheltered location.
