One of the many Red Oaks, the Nutall Oak highly resembles the Shumard Red Oak, and it is often confused with it, but the leaves tend to be longer (up to 6 in) and narrower than those of the other oaks. Grows to 60′ high, 40′ wide. Not well known in the industry. it may soon replace other Red Oaks due to its richer red fall color, better branching structure, and higher transplant survival due to a stronger root system.
