This fruit has a cult-like following and it’s easy to see why! This bumpy skinned green fruit looks like and apple but tastes like the crispest, juiciest Asian Pear ever. Heavy producing and maturing in early August, it is a home orchard prize! Heavy producer. Outstanding tart Asian Pear taste with incredible juiciness. Easy to grow. Lovely in bloom in spring. Fruit is best for fresh eating. Needs another Asian Pear variety nearby for best pollination and fruit set.
Growing Asian pears is easy if you have a sunny, well drained site with a slightly acidic soil pH around 6.5. The trees are partially self-fertile and some varieties can share pollen with European pears, but it is still best to plant two Asian pear trees to enhance pollination.
