Quick Overview:

K Rex Rock fern is almost twice as large as Korean Rock Fern having 18? to 24? fronds. It has a dark and dusky cast balanced by a subtle luminescence which gives it an attractive elegance in the garden or a flower arrangement. Like all but one of the Polystichums, it is an evergreen. This fern is best used in good shade and rich soil, but highlighted with lighter green to yellow complementary plants. Hostas are a good option.

Description

Best grown in organically rich, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils in part shade to full shade. Consider planting rhizome at an angle to help combat potential crown rot problems which can occur in poorly drained soils. Although rhizomatous, this fern will not spread or naturalize, however clumps will increase in size over time.
