Quick Overview:

This exciting improvement in ninebark has a compact, upright spreading habit and fine textured, dark foliage that sets it apart from other ninebark. It is also mildew-resistant, so it doesn’t turn into a powdery white eyesore in your garden or shrub border. Clusters of small purplish-white flowers in late spring contrast nicely with the burgundy foliage. This low maintenance plant adapts to wet or dry soil.

Description

Easily grown in average, slightly acidic, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Best in full sun in the northern part or its growing range, but appreciates some afternoon shade. Tolerates a wide range of soil conditions. Prune as needed immediately after bloom and no later than mid-August. Plants may be cut close to the ground in winter to rejuvenate.  (Courtesy of Missouri Botanical Garden Plant Finder)
