Pinnately compound leaves with numerous glossy green leaflets with spiny margins. Upright clusters of small yellow flowers in late winter. Clusters of yellow flowers in December held in erect racemes.

Description

Easily grown in moist, well-drained soils in part shade (morning sun or sun dappled shade) to full shade. Also tolerates full sun, particularly in the northern parts of its growing range.
