Quick Overview:

This new series of Cardinal Flower from Kieft Seeds is an improvement from older cultivars, with first year flowering plants, earlier flowering, better branching, and better quality finished plants.  Flowers are borne on dense, strictly upright spikes. Cardinal Flowers are excellent border plants for moist locations and are hummingbird magnets. Deep violet blue flowers are produced on incredibly upright flower spikes. We have observed better rebloom on STARSHIP™ Blue than other Lobelia in our trials. This variety does not take on bronze leaf color in fall. From PanAmerican Seed.

Description

Easily grown in rich, humusy, medium to wet soils in full sun to part shade. Needs constant moisture. Will tolerate full sun in cool, northern climates, but otherwise appreciates part shade. Divide clumps in spring as needed. May self-seed in optimum growing conditions.
