Quick Overview:

Frogbit is a floating plant with leathery heart-shaped leaves that are deeply notched at the base and thick in the center. Flowers are small and white and grow on stalks about 1/3 as tall as the leaves from summer to early fall.

Description

Frogbit grows well in full or partial sun and wet conditions.  Frogbit (Limnobium spongia) can float on water or root itself in mud; it does not like to dry out. The water should be stagnant or very slow-moving.  It can spread aggressively in warm climates by means of its stolons; this is less of a problem in climates with winter temperatures that are substantially below-freezing.
