Quick Overview:

A beautiful mid-size, upright grower with large panicles of brilliant red blooms. The disease resistant foliage starts as maroon-red in spring and transitions into dark green. It is the perfect plant to use as a specimen or grouping in any size garden. Deadheading will encourage re-blooming into the fall.

Description

Best grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. Does well in loamy, clay soils with good drainage. Benefits from a slow release fertilizer. Overly fertile soils tend to produce lush foliage growth at the expense of flowering with somewhat increased susceptibility to winter injury.  (Courtesy of Missouri Botanical Gardens Plant Finder)
