Quick Overview:

Purely Purple is a striking new Black Diamond Crape Myrtle with gorgeous black foliage and masses of vibrant purple blooms. The blooms reach their productivity peak during the summer and fall months. This variety has been described as having an intermediate growth habit, reaching 10 to 12 feet tall and can be used as a specimen or in mass plantings.

Description

Best grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. Does well in loamy, clay soils with good drainage. Benefits from a slow release fertilizer. Overly fertile soils tend to produce lush foliage growth at the expense of flowering with somewhat increased susceptibility to winter injury. Water roots deeply, particularly in dry spells, but avoid wetting the foliage.
