Quick Overview:

The Golden Pacific Juniper is a new spin on an old favorite – a yellow / golden colored version of the Shore Juniper, or Blue Pacific Juniper.  Golden Pacific Juniper has the same, low growing, trailing growth characteristics as the Blue Pacific, but this new variety displays a nice bright golden yellow foliage. Color is especially nice on new growth and when planted in locations with excellent sun exposure – the better the sun, the better the golden yellow color will be. This juniper variety is well suited for use as a groundcover, and works well in mass plantings to cover any area with good sun exposure…….small, or large. Branches are fairly soft, pliable, and flexible……making Golden Pacific Juniper an excellent choice for use along retaining walls, or anywhere it can be allowed to cascade down over the edges.

Description

Juniperus conferta, commonly called shore juniper, is a decumbent evergreen shrub that is native to certain sandy coastal areas of Japan and Sakhalin Island (Russia). It is a dense, low-spreading plant that grows 10-18” tall and spreads by creeping, branched stems over time to 6-8’ wide. It is noted for its attractive, aromatic, awl-shaped, blue-green foliage featuring spiny-pointed blue-green needles.  (Courtesy of Missouri Botanical Garden Plant Finder)
