Quick Overview:

This striking Siberian Iris features velvety, deep purple falls trimmed in rich gold below lively lavender-blue standards highlighted with vivid yellow. This unusual coloration, combined with its exotic flower form, makes Black Joker a hit with gardeners and garden pros alike. They are easy to grow, tolerant of many soil types (though they prefer moist soil) and deer resistant. Plus, they have a fine fragrance that intensifies in large mass plantings. At 22″ tall, Black Joker makes a wonderful addition to sunny borders and beds, too.

Description

Easily grown in average, medium to wet soil in full sun to part shade. An adaptable plant which tolerates a wide range of soils. It is best grown in very moist, fertile, slightly acid soil, including boggy conditions, but will also tolerate a poor, dry soil because its thick roots penetrate the soil deeply.  (Courtesy of Missouri Botanical Gardens Plant Finder)
