Hardiness Zones:

 10a  10b  7a  7b  8a  8b  9a  9b

Quick Overview:

This compact, well-behaved Illicium has golden yellow foliage and keeps a nice mounded form. Unlike ‘Florida Sunshine’, BananAppeal® doesn’t send out long gangly shoots and the leaves don’t bleach out in winter. With anise-scented foliage, it is a perfect accent plant in shade gardens, maintaining its small stature and luminescent yellow-gold foliage.

Description

Winter hardy to USDA Zones 7-10 where it is easily grown in moist, rich soils in part shade to full shade. Tolerates full sun as long as soils are kept uniformly moist. Established plants tolerate some drought, but prefer good moisture.   (Courtesy of Missouri Botanical Garden Plant Finder)
