Mesa Yellow has a more uniform habit with more flowers than other varieties. Very drought tolerant once established, this selection shows intense, sunshine yellow color all season on upright, well-branched plants that perform well in landscapes and mixed containers.The 3-inch daisy like flowers and globe-shaped seed heads offer a superior color presentation throughout the summer. The flowers attract butterflies and are lovely in bouquets.

These perennials require little care once established. They are heat tolerant and actually prefer to be grown in poorer soils. They get their name from the manner in which they used to blanket North American prairies with their blooms. They can still be found in fields and along roadsides in the prairie region and into the Rockies.
