Quick Overview:

Dryopteris koidzumiana, Koidzuma?s wood fern, is a distinguished evergreen that is highly regarded for its extremely colorful burgundy new growth; color so intense that it was once considered a variety of the Japanese rosy autumn fern (Dryopteris erythrosora). This growth is very late in the season, however, so have faith as it will reward you by holding these hues well into summer. At 18 to 24 inches it is open and upright in habit and prefers loamy woodland soil and good light. Place it where you want a colorful accent in Zones 7 and 8
