Quick Overview:

This lovely cultivar of Deschampsia cespitosa shares many attributes with the species: clump growing, semi evergreen, fine textured leaves, and thin stems topped with sprays of airy delicate flowers. However, Deschampsia cespitosa ‘Goldtau’ has a golden twist. It blooms in color. Seed heads emerge from dark green stems in an explosion of chartreuse-yellow, eventually changing to bronze. They remain handsome in winter landscapes and deliver a knock-out punch to cut-flower arrangements.

Description

Deschampsia cespitosa performs best and flowers most in cooler climates. In warmer climates, Golden Dew Tufted Hair Grass needs semi-shade and moist conditions, and flower production may be greatly reduced.
