Quick Overview:

Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Lutea Compacta’ is somewhat similar to ‘Nana Lutea’ but with double the growth rate of 4 to 6 inches per year, a more upright pyramidal habit, and larger foliage sprays. When all grown up, it might reach 7 feet tall and 4 feet wide at its base, making it a good fit for small garden spaces and containers. Its ascending branches are clothed in gently twisting and turning feathery sprays of golden-yellow new foliage, contrasting beautifully with the mature, rich green interior foliage. During winter, the foliage turns a beautiful deeper shade of golden yellow. We suggest six or more hours of sunlight daily for the brightest foliage color.
