Quick Overview:

A wonderful selection of the North America native Redbud tree, ‘Golden Falls’ is a lovely weeping selection with branches that cascade beautifully to the ground like a waterfall. In late winter to early spring, the branches become covered in clusters of rosy-pink sweet pea-like flowers that are immediately followed by the emergence of heart-shaped, yellow leaves tinged in orange that turn to lime green as they age. You can expect Golden Falls to reach 8 to 10 feet tall and only 3 to 4 feet wide when all grown up, making this brilliant beauty an ideal choice for smaller garden spaces and home foundation plantings. Also very nice in large pots for situating on patios, decks and around other outdoor living spaces.

Description

Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Part shade is best in hot summer climates. Performs best in moderately fertile soils with regular and consistent moisture. Avoid wet or poorly drained soils.  In full sun locations, the foliage retains good golden color until gradually changing to chartreuse as the summer progresses. In part shade locations, the foliage acquires a greener chartreuse coloration as summer progresses. Golden foliage is considered to be burn-resistant in full sun.  (Courtesy of Missouri Botanical Garden Plant Finder)
