This compact Redbud tree is an elegant focal point in small gardens and in containers. Its size and lush red-to-green foliage give a similar effect as a Japanese Maple, with the benefit of being native to North America. A spring flush of pinkish purple blooms will attract pollinators.
Description
Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Plants perform best in moderately fertile soils with regular and consistent moisture. Avoid wet or poorly drained soils. Since this tree does not transplant well, it should be planted when young and left undisturbed. (Courtesy of Missouri Botanical Garden Plant Finder)
