Quick Overview:

NewGen Independence® offers classic boxwood beauty with good resistance to boxwood blight as well as good performance in boxwood leafminer trials.  NewGen Independence® is a very deep green, medium-sized cultivar that holds excellent color throughout the winter. It has a rounded habit that is nearly as tall as wide.  Note all boxwood cultivars show some level of susceptibility to boxwood blight under extreme circumstances. It is not recommended to replant boxwood in sites with a history of severe boxwood blight.

Description

Best grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Prefers moist, sandy loams. Tolerant of pruning and shearing. Avoid cultivating around plants because they have shallow roots. Roots appreciate a good mulch. (Courtesy of Missouri Botanical Garden Plant Finder)
