Acer shirasawanum ‘Moonrise’ is a gorgeous Japanese maple that has beautiful red leaves that emerge in the spring. It then ages to green yellow with an orange blush. Sometimes the leaves are almost completely orange with the green veining depending on the amount of shade or sun. Very similar to ‘Autumn Moon’ but has better full sun tolerance. This cultivar holds its colors fairly well into summer and transforms to a brilliant display of golds in the fall.
