‘Junihitoe’ is a showy Japanese maple selection with extremely rounded green foliage. When looking at this foliage, its easy to see where this type of maple is often referred to as a “full moon” Japanese maple. These green leaves turn to a bright orange in the fall. Also known under the name ‘Junihitoye’, this older Japanese maple selection is listed in Japanese literature as early as the 1800’s. The habit of ‘Junihitoe’ is slow growing often multi-stemmed.
