‘Legacy’ sugar maple is a fast growing, densely-branched, symmetrical shade tree. The thick, waxy, dark-green leaves have a definite sheen and are resistant to tattering in our frequent wind storms and are resistant to burning during the dry summer months. In the fall, the entire tree transforms to bright red with touches of pink, orange and golden yellow.
Excellent specimen tree for the lawn or parks with beautiful fall color. May be used as a street tree as long as it can be located on a street and in a location where road salt, soil compaction and pollution will not be significant problems.
