Quick Overview:

This upright reticulated maple’s leaves have green veins over a white background, giving the appearance of snow on mountain peaks, hence the name ‘Yama Nishiki’.   This type of variegation on ‘Yama nishiki’ does not revert, but is dependent on the environment. Spring weather that is cold and keeps maples leafing out slowly produces the best variegated leaves. Protection from the hot afternoon sun is recommended for best color.
