“Bihou” means “beautiful mountain range” in Japanese, and this tree certainly lives up to its name… stunning, captivating, and colorful! Its bark is as vibrant as its leaves, which makes Bihou Japanese Maple a standout even in the winter landscape! Bihou exhibits outstanding winter interest with an unusual, golden yellow, apricot colored bark. Like the Coral Bark maple, this plant will add vitality to your winter landscape. A small, upright tree with yellow-green leaves. Bihou is also known as Bi hoo. A Vigorous grower to 10′ or so. Fall color is yellows and oranges.
Easily grown in moist, organically rich, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Prefers lightly sun dappled part shade. Avoid hot and dry sites.
