Quick Overview:

Chipolo Pink Titi Tree, Cliftonia monofilia, also commonly known as Buckwheat Tree, is one of the most unrecognized flowering trees in existence. In mid-spring abundant clusters of upward-facing, wonderfully fragrant pink flower spikes are produced at the ends of almost ever stem on the tree. When not in bloom, some folks might mistake the Chipolo Pink Titi Tree for wax myrtle. The 2-inch long ovate leaves of Chipolo Pink are lustrous and dark green and remain on the tree year round. This wonderful evergreen tree grows native in low-lying areas of the coastal plains from South Carolina to Louisiana.

Description

Chipolo Pink Titi Tree can be grown in sunny or partly sunny areas of the landscape as a large shrub or lower branches can be removed to form a small tree that matures to about 15 feet tall and almost as wide. It is ideal for use as a specimen or in groupings just about anywhere in the landscape where a small to moderate flowering tree is desired. Thrives in moisture retentive soils. A fine addition to fragrance gardens, pink theme gardens, native plant gardens, coastal gardens, and cottage gardens
