Quick Overview:

‘Night Before Christmas’ is a sport of Hosta ‘White Christmas’ that was bred and registered by John L. Machen, Jr. of Mobjack Nurseries in Foster, Virginia in 1994. Its 8 in. by 3 in. leaves have creamy white centers that change to pure white by midsummer and wide, dark olive green edges. It has 2 in. long, pale lavender flowers on up to 3 ft. tall stems. ‘Night Before Christmas’ grows 1.25 to 1.5 ft. tall and 2.5 to 3 ft. wide.  (Courtesy of Missouri Botanical Gardens Plant Finder)

Description

Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soils in part shade to full shade. Tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions. Does best in rich, moist, organic soils in light, sun-dappled shade.
