Quick Overview:

‘Wide Brim’ is a medium hosta featuring cordate, rugose, wide-oval, dark green leaves (to 8″ by 6″) tinged with blue and variegated with wide (to 1 1/2″) but irregular creamy white to pale yellow margins. Leaves have cuspidate tips. Leaves grow in a rounded mound to 16″ tall and to 36″ wide. Funnel-shaped, pale lavender flowers in dense racemes bloom in mid to late summer atop naked scapes rising to 24″ tall.

Description

Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soils in part shade to full shade. Tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions. Does best in rich, moist, organic soils in light, sun-dappled shade. Divide plants as needed in spring or autumn (perhaps easiest in early spring before the leaves unfurl).
