Moneywort or creeping Jenny is a low-growing, creeping ground cover which forms a leafy mat only 2-4″ tall. Roots where leaf nodes come in contact with the soil. Thrives in damp soils which will often kill off other types of ground covers.Creeping Jenny is a reliable perennial that in Zone 8 grows best in afternoon shade locations. The leaves are light green; We use Creeping Jenny as a goundcover or a filler around stepping stones in shady locations. The bright foliage works nicely to lighten up shady areas. It looks especially nice around the rocks and boulders of a garden pond.
