Quick Overview:

‘Golden Tiara’ is a small to medium hosta that forms a spreading mound of foliage to 16″ tall and to 38″ wide. Wide-oval, medium green leaves (to 5″ long and 4 3/8″ wide) with heart-shaped bases have irregular golden yellow margins. Funnel-shaped, lavender to purple flowers in clusters appear in late summer atop upright flower scapes rising above the foliage mound to 25″ tall.

Description

Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in part shade to full shade. Tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions. Performs best in rich, moist, organic soils. Plants need consistent moisture during the growing season. Water is best applied directly to the soil beneath the leaves. Notwithstanding soil moisture preferences, ‘Golden Tiara’ reportedly has better tolerance for dryish soils than many of the hostas commonly grown in gardens today. Remove spent flower scapes to encourage rebloom. Divide plants as needed in spring or autumn.
