Quick Overview:

The round, bold, shiny green, 8-10″ wide leaves are spotted with yellow dots, as though it were a leopard skin; hence, the name. This consummate conversation piece grows well in sites that can be kept slightly moist but well-drained…poor drainage kills. That being said, farfugium ‘Aureomaculatum’ wilts when dry but is amazingly drought-tolerant. The 24″ wide clumps are topped with numerous 30″ stalks of spectacular yellow daisies in October and November.

Description

In areas where plants are winter hardy, they are best grown in humusy, organically rich, medium moisture soils in part shade to full shade. They prefer moist soils that never dry out, but tolerate less moisture than many of the related Ligularias. Plants generally benefit from regular, deep watering in hot summers.
