Quick Overview:

Leatherleaf Mahonia has fragrant yellow flowers held in terminal 6 to 9 inch racemes. It blooms during warmers spells in the winter. Flowers are fragrant and appealing to bees active on warmer winter days. Fertilized flowers mature into blue drupes held in grape-like clusters. Dark green, opposite, holly-like (spined) foliage is held on upright stems with little or no branching. Stem wood is yellow inside.  (Courtesy of Missouri Botanical Garden Plant Finder)
